Famous Last Words: Getting the Semester Started!

This week's content of mythology and folklore really made me excited for what is to come. Making my schedule for the year exposed me to the wide selection of stories that I will be able to read, and I am more than ready to delve into reading. My favorite story I read while exploring was the one of the The Brahman, tiger, and jackal. I love short stories that have witty endings such as this short story where the jackal outsmarted the tiger. In addition, I was also able to experiment with commenting on my classmates' blogs. I really enjoyed being able to learn about the other students taking this class especially because this is an online class where I cannot really interact with others. Nevertheless, I look forward to being able to communicate with my classmates on our blogs! Also this week I was able to generate some ideas for my storybook. Reading the storybooks of past classes really inspired me to come up with unique ways to present the stories, and I believe I have four solid mediums to do so. This upcoming week I am going to evaluate each of these ideas and see which project is the most appealing to me. My classes outside of mythology and folklore have not been bad, but I think it is important to remember this is only the second week of the semester. I am still having to wrap my mind around the fact that I am junior and only have two years left on campus, so I am trying to take things day by day. I plan on going to the OU football game on Sunday, and I am so excited to have football back in Norman! I think the white-out theme will be something different and cool to see within the stadium, and I am hoping this is our year to win it all!

Introducing the RealNeal

Wow. It is crazy to think that I am already back in Norman for my junior year. While my first two years were full of unique experiences, I never imagined that I would be a writing a blog to begin my third year! To start off, I am psychology major on the pre medicine track. Ever since I took psychology in high school I found studying the mind and the way people act so interesting. However, I always had the goal of becoming a physician which explains the pre-med track.  Although I am an OU student, I still consider myself a proud Texan. I come from a relatively small town in East Texas where high school football is king and perhaps the most famous thing is that Matthew Mccounaughey graduated from my high school (he even came to our high school graduation this year to give a speech!). Week 11 Story: Why the Possum Plays Dead

Late at night, Rabbit and Possum were searching for food to survive the night. The winter had been hard on the two friends, but they had remained steadfast to each other throughout the season. Nevertheless, it was necessary for them to find some food or perish. Thus, the two friends decided to search some of the neighborhoods next to the woods they called home. Meticulously Rabbit and Possum went to house after house, rummaging through the trash bins to look for food that would survive them for the night. Yet, they continued to fail to find their nourishment. The two friends were soon becoming alarmed as they knew there was no chance that they would survive the night without food. However, as they approached a quiet house on the corner on the neighborhoods, Rabbit came across a pleasant surprise. Sitting ripely underneath the balcony of the porch was a tasty trove of leafy greens for both the Possum and Rabbit to eat. Rabbit quickly became eager and urged Possum to join him to steal th...
